Director Sérgio Goldenberg began his career as a collaborator of Eduardo Coutinho. He directed the documentaries Funk Rio and Domésticas, which have been shown both in Brazil and abroad, and many TV programs (among them Amor bandido, Tribos urbanas and Herdeiros da recessão). He is also a scriptwriter for the programs Brasil Legal and Muvuca (shown on TV Globo). Bendito Fruto is his first feature film.
