Synopsis:
A group of indigenous named Guarani-Kaiowá, lives in a large agricultural property (Fazenda) and works in conditions of slavery. Sometimes they make money by posing in photos with tourists who are visiting the place.
But after the suicide of one of them, the band decided to demand the devolution of the land of their ancestors. It will start a major conflict with the landowners.
Marco Béchis was born in Santiago in 1955 and grew up between Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, where he worked as a school teacher.
During the military dictatorship in Argentina, he exiled himself to Milan, then worked as a photographer and videomaker in New York.
Between 1983 and 1987, he made five short films. His first feature film, entitled Alambrado (1991), followed Garage Olimpo (1999). In 2004 he founded Karta Film and begins production of Birdwatchers, his first feature film as producer.
