There he studied the relationship and mutual cultural influences between Brazil and Africa. The film is narrated and presented by internationally renowned Brazilian musician Gilberto Gil, includes an interview with Verger filmed a day before his passing, and testimonials by Brazilian novelist Jorge Amado and historian Cid Teixeira.
